Hello.  My name is Karen and I have helped my customers turn their ideas into the website they want. 

So where did it all start? I first started designing websites while working for Southampton City Council in the UK.  I’m a qualified Microsoft IT Specialist, and certified IT Trainer.  In 2006 I was asked to take on the role of supporting Schools in Southampton with their websites as a result of a colleague taking maternity leave!

Wanting to make the role my own I started looking at ways in which the websites across the city could be improved as many were difficult to navigate around, had become out of date or difficult to maintain.  As a result I created a School Web Design service within the City,  which is still in place today.   I re-trained, learning about Abobe products - primarily Dreamweaver, Fireworks and Flash but also Front Page/ Sharepoint Designer and Web Expression from a Microsoft aspect.

It was while redesigning these School sites that friends and colleagues started asking if I would be interested in creating personal websites for them.  Having looked at other website design companies it became very obvious very quickly how much companies were charging customers for their services and while accepting the cost for ecommerce sites, found the price for static websites very high.  I wanted to be able to offer people an alternative.  To offer affordable bespoke websites.  I decided to keep it simple and base my costs on pages only, with no additional costs for the initial design, forms or site optimization.

So that was the beginning.. Since this time all but one of the sites you see displayed have been created through word of mouth and have included customers from the UK, Cyprus and France.   I’ve created a large variety of websites, all very different in style and subject – everything from Champion Akitas, Roleplaying games, Financial consultants, Veterinary Practices and handmade Teddy Bears to name a few.  The range has been huge and extremely interesting to work with.

I very much enjoy working with people and finding out about their businesses, hobbies and interests and love nothing more than to see a website go live.  Working together, my customers give me their ideas and I then convert these into website pages and so far “touch wood” all my customers have been happy with the end result and the manner in which I work, responding quickly to enquiries, changing things or coming up with new ideas.
